Martin Alex Aucoin is an award nominated artist, songwriter and producer. His own jazz/blues album "So Far" is a contender for Jazz Record of the year for the 2008 East Coast Music Awards. It is a set of completely original tunes written, arranged and produced by Martin and featuring a crack rhythm section with a sax/trumpet front line. Comprising of mostly vocal tunes and 2 instrumentals, it is mixture of blues infected jazz rhythms with witty engaging lyrics and great solos by tenor man Alex Dean and trumpet ace Steve McDade. His work on the Johnny Max Band album "A Lesson I've Learned", a mixture of Muscle Shoals and New Orleans type grooves, has earned the band a nomination for the 2008 Juno Awards. He and Johnny were also in the running for Songwriter and Producer of the year for the 2008 Maple Blues awards.

Even though he is committed to furthering his own artistic ambitions with his new album, Martin enjoys helping out other artists with their own vision, either as a keyboard player, writer or producer. Because his influences are so wide and varied, he is comfortable in a myriad of musical styles. Having played on hundreds of sessions in Nashville and literally dozens of albums here in Toronto, Martin's compositional, arranging, and playing talents make him an ideal candidate to help out anyone's studio ambitions.

Here are a few examples of Martin's versatile skills in the studio, consisting of jazz, blues, R&B, country, and rock sessions he has played on/produced.
